Team Practice Thurs. 3-29-2012

We will be having an all team practice this Thurs. from 3pm-5pm in the JET room. We are preparing for the upcoming season and would like to see everyone there. Again, we appreciate all of the valuable help and resources that our graduating 8th graders provide to our returning team and upcoming team(s) for next year!!! The teams will be getting their robots and information ready to present to the 5th grade students that may potentially be interested in joining the program next year for the Senior Solutions Challenge.

Change in Practice from 3/02/2012 to 3/01/2012

All team practice / Activity 3-02-2012

We will be having an all team practice this Friday in the JET room from 3:10-5:00pm for those interested. We will be investigating forces in microgravity by using the scientific method. Practices are meant to be educational as well as to help students learn and put to use the core values of the FLL program. We would like to see everyone there as we are building next years teams. The current 8th graders are a tremendous resource for our future teams and we appreciate their williness to mentor our younger teams.

2012 FLL Challenge Announced!

The New challenge for the 2012 season has been announced!!! Can FIRST® LEGO® League teams improve the quality of life for seniors by helping them continue to be independent, engaged, and connected in their communities? In the 2012 SENIOR SOLUTION Challenge, over 200,000 children ages 9 to16* from more than 60 countries will explore the topic of aging and how it may affect a person’s ability to maintain his or her lifestyle – solving issues like getting around, keeping in touch, or staying fit. Teams will research obstacles and then suggest ways to improve the quality of life for the seniors affected. Teams will also build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® robot to solve a set of missions on an obstacle course. Throughout their experience, teams will operate under FLL’s signature set of Core Values. What an exciting topic for our students. We are very excited about getting involved in our community as we prepare for the upcoming season!!!!
